It seems that film makers are
in massive rush to release their films before September
comes to end. Otherwise how can one describe at least 12
more films getting ready to hit the marquee over next 3
Fridays. While
‘Naksha’ and ‘Dil Diya Hai’ have already released last
Friday, 4 confirmed releases for this Friday are ‘Shiva’,
‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’, ‘Bas Ek Pal’ and ‘Kachchi Sadak’.
Incidentally the first two releases have seen their release
dates being pushed number of times but now they are finally
coming on screens.
A week later i.e. on
September 22nd come as many as 5 confirmed releases which
are ‘Rocky - The Rebel’, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Dor’, ‘Jai
Santoshi Maa’ and ‘Manoranjan’. Again ‘Rocky - The Rebel’
was earlier supposed to arrive on August 18th but now has to
contend with more than a month’s delay release. ‘Khosla Ka
Ghosla’ too has been a film lying in cans for quite some
time before UTV revived its fortunes after taking over the
product.
‘Dor’ is a Nagesh Kukunoor
film that comes in the wake of ‘Iqbal’ but releases amidst a
massive rush while ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’ is the first of the
remakes to arrive before ‘Don’ and ‘Umrao Jaan’.
‘Manoranjan’ is a small time film on the functioning of film
industry and is the 5th film in the running. It may as well
be 6 releases in the week if Bhagyashree, Ayesha Jhukla,
Mohnish Behl and Aman Verma starrer social ‘Janani’ too
manages to see the light of the day.
Well, the mad rush doesn’t
end here as ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Zindaggi Rocks’ and ‘Utthaan’ are
the confirmed releases on September 29th. Out of these only
‘Wo Lamhe’ seems to be all set to hit the bull’s eye while
‘Zindaggi Rocks’ may be a dark horse in the running.
‘Utthan’ sees a delayed release after being ready for quite
a while.
The number of releases this
September may only increase if films like ‘Iqraar - By
Chance’, ‘Jaana - Let’s Fall In Love’ and ‘Mera Dil Leke
Dekkho’ get some screen space to arrive! |
